About

Summer of Dresses is about celebrating the simple act of dressing up and feeling good. It's about loving how you look. And, it's about enjoying the sunny, warm days of summer no matter where you are (but especially if you are in Minnesota where summer doesn't last long enough).

Please join us. Everyone is welcome. Our only rule? Be kind. To yourself, and others.

How it works:

  1. wear a dress
  2. snap a photo
  3. share it (email photos to summerofdresses@posterous.com)

Anyone can participate! More tips on how to post to the site here.

Posts are moderated, so there may be a slight delay before your post goes live.

Follow us on Twitter at @summerofdresses, or on Facebook. New posts are automatically posted in both locations! As of 2012, posts also appear on the Pioneer Press Shopping & Style page.

Are you on Pinterest? We've got a group board there as well, check it out!

How it began:

In the summer of 2010, Nicole Weiler (@nicycle) decided she wanted to wear more dresses. Liz Bastian (@lizbastian) dubbed it #summerofdresses.

Meghan Wilker (@irishgirl) decided that there should be a central location for all of the photos of lovely ladies in fancy frocks so one night she bought a domain name and whipped up a little Posterous site. And so Summer of Dresses was born.

In 2012, Aaron Purmort (@purmort) designed us an official logo and Rett Martin (@rett) gave our site a much-needed makeover. Now, we're prettier than ever.
